The word ‘rugged’ is used to describe coastline all over the UK, but when it comes to Morte Point in Devon it couldn’t be more fitting.
During our mini break to Devon we went in search of a coastal track to walk and ended up at Morte Point on a section of the South West Coast Track. Parking up in the village of Mortehoe we followed the 5 mile circular track out onto the peninsula and up and over the jagged spine. Coastline doesn’t get much more rugged than this and it’s easy to see why this area was once notorious for shipwrecks.
